HOUSE OF INDIA

House of India, at the Eastern gateway to Coral Gables, has been serving authentic Punjabi cuisine at the same spot for over thirty-three years. A family-run establishment, it was also the very first Indian restaurant in the state of Florida. Nowadays, there are a smattering of Indian restaurants throughout Miami, however, the longevity of House of India speaks volumes not only to its loyal clientele, but also to a level of consistency and cultural genuineness that affirmatively nods to the passage of time.

Two clay Tandoor ovens: one exclusively for freshly-baked Naan, Roti and Paratha breads; and the other for exquisitely-spiced chicken, lamb and seafood, is fired-up using only charcoal to assure steadfast juicy, smoky, flawlessly-flavored Tandoori specialties. Creatively named dishes such as “Maharaja Patiala Korma” (an ancient recipe) or “Yoga” Vegetarian Dinner are consummate favorites. The menu is thorough, easily obliging all Indian preferences, and prices are very fair – an optimal equation which makes House of India nothing less than habit-forming.
